Girvan, South Ayrshire
The harbour area at Girvan in Ayrshire looking south from over the river.
The new floating pontoons have been built at considerable cost out of public funds to try to promote sailing and tourism in the area.
The crew access to the lifeboat is along the long side of the pontoons.
The fishing boat “Fleur de France”, J.86, registered in Jersey and now sailing out of Fleetwood as it comes into harbour.
It's understood she was built in Camaret sur Mer in Brittany by the Peron yard.
As she comes in past the “Red Princess” owned by the Troon Tug Company.
The same area from the south side of the river taken an hour or so later on a falling tide.
A panorama of the same area showing from the golf club to the left - north - all the way past Strathavon Caravan Site and Asda and round past the bends in the river to the cross eastwards at the right.
