Port Appin - The Ferry to Lismore
north of Oban, Argyll & Bute
Some photos of the ferry to and from Lismore, a small island off the west coast of Scotland, a few miles north of Oban.
This is the ferry “The Lismore” arriving at Port Appin pier.
The ferry leaves from Port Appin pier and during the holiday season is roughly a one-hour service each way (but a few less trips on Sundays).
It's not an expensive trip at just £1.70 per adult (2016 prices) so it's a very popular day trip for tourists. Children travel for even less.
A close up view to show the name of the ferry and the clarity of the photographs.
Disembarking passengers at the pierhead.
Ready to depart (it's about a ten-minute crossing) and with the sight-seeing boat trippers all set to leave from the other side of the pier.
On the way. Lismore is the low, green island in the middle distance and the hills in the background are the Kingarloch coast of the Morvern peninsula on the far side of Loch Linnhe.
