Construction site for a new café, Barassie, Troon, South Ayrshire
Working in reverse order with the most recent images first.
11th May, 2017
Looking from the north, this image shows the whole site in relation to the
town of Troon and the harbour.
No sign as yet of any construction work, however.

The whole site with an approximate outline in red of the area of the planning permission granted.
Don't expect accuracy of better than about a foot or so (30cm) as it's a bit vague due to the scale of the information plan available.
From offshore looking northwards with Barassie Primary School in the background.
14th February, 2017
The site is now cleared back to bare soil ready for the construction to begin.
1st February, 2017
This set of photos shows the demolition and later the new building on a site alongside North Shore Road in Troon.
The old building was a very run-down toilet block, shelter and shop and was in a very dilapidated and frankly smelly condition. A real eyesore.
The new building will include a restaurant and public toilets and will greatly enhance the area and attract much-needed visitors to Troon.
The site has now been cleared, as you can see, and the construction of the new facility is planned to start before the end of February 2017.
Right on the beach the site has excellent access and will provide plenty of parking spaces.
In this view the proximity of the site to Barassie Primary School can easily be seen.
You can also see the digger lifting up the blue rubber on the right-hand side.
These images were taken in low light and the warm sunshine is reflected in the colour scheme of the photos, reddish light with long shadows.
12th May, 2015
The blue area to the right of the buildings was some sort of soft play area and was always in a pretty water-logged condition.
From square on.
You can see here that the state of the roof was pretty appalling and the interior was dank and smelly.
18th August, 2006
The building was in use back in the summer of 2006, but even then the fenced area to the right was closed off and beginning to decay.
This image was taken on film. Happy days.
