Both of the photographs on this page were taken from well under 100 feet because the location is just within the safety zone of Prestwick Airport.

The building above was once the stables of Fullarton House - the home of the Dukes of Portland for many years - which was eventually demolished by the local council in the mid 1960s, though some put the date as earlier.

All that remains are a couple of restored gateposts - the top of one is visible on the right of this photograph - this converted stable block and the ruins of an “ice house” in the woods nearby, to the left of this photograph .
