The buildings next door and to the west are Ferguson's shipyard.

That's not lens distortion causing the building to appear to bend towards the camera.

As you can see in the fourth photo - the overhead view - the tower is built at an odd angle to the main house section of the castle.

More likely is that the tower was built first and the house part added later.
