Barassie Beach Kites - South Ayrshire
A few power kite flyers surfing off Barassie Beach.
With the tide rushing in and an on-shore wind this was a really good
day for kite surfing.
Looking south you can see on the horizon the island of Ailsa Craig, a
couple of tankers moving into the Clyde and on the far right the
southern edge of the Isle of Arran.

From the number of kites in this photo (six plus a reflection) you
can see that the beach at Barassie is a popular spot for this sport.
Plenty of parking and lots of wind but the facilities - toilets,
food, shelter - are currently
a bit sparse.
Looking north over the beach.
Irvine and the north Ayrshire hills are in the distance.
Visible on the right horizon is Ben Lomond, 43 miles (68 km) away
to the north.
A close view of a guy flying a Razor 10.
We know it's a Razor 10 because it says so on the kite but
other than that we're clueless.
