Kilchurn Castle - Loch Awe
in Argyllshire, from the west
Kilchurn Castle on a promontory in the north of Loch Awe in Argyllshire.
These photos are looking westwards over Loch Awe.
Behind the castle is the River Orchy flowing down from Glen Orchy to the east.
The hill to the right is Stob Maol leading up to the peak of Beinn Eunaich and up the valley of the Allt Mhoille is Beinn a'Chochuill, both of them being Munros.

The hill just above the loch is Monadh Driseig, the lower flank of Ben Cruachan which is the peak almost 2 miles away to the left of the two on the horizon, alongside Stob Daimh which is a lot closer and to the right of this image.

Loch Awe is about 125 feet above sea level
