The Forth & Clyde Canal extension
Grangemouth, Falkirk District
The lock at the new end of the Forth & Clyde Canal in Grangemouth.
This is all part of the development of the Falkirk Helix, the centrepiece of which are the Kelpies just to the north of here, seen lower down this page.
A wider view. The River Carron is in the foreground of these photos.
Looking north towards the Falkirk Helix and the Kelpies you can easily see the new canal extension as it runs alongside the river.
The Kelpies are on either side of the entrance to this new canal extension just on the far side of the M9.
The centre section of the above photo.
From further upstream the bridge under the M9 with a Kelpie in the top right corner.
This looking south-east.
