Dalgarven House Hotel and Mill
north of Kilwinning, North Ayrshire
The Dalgarven House Hotel on the A737 a mile or so north of Kilwinning.
This is a popular watering hole and restaurant nestling between the road and the banks of the River Garnock.
A few yards behind it over the river is the Dalgarven Mill, photographed below.
A slightly lower angle and tighter crop.
The Museum of Ayrshire Country Life and Costume at Dalgarven Mill.
An excellent spot to visit; interesting exhibits, a working water-wheel and an antique shop hidden away in a restored byre.
Just watch out for the bad-tempered wee doggie at the door!
There's also an exhibition of old farm implements and some nice riverside walks as well as the obligatory coffee shop with home baking and snacks.
