Hamilton, South Lanarkshire
In Hamilton Low Park
Hamilton Mausoleum, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland

In the grounds of what was Hamilton Palace.

This is the mausoleum for many of the Dukes of Hamilton and is now in a popular public park. The construction started around 1842.

Taken looking north, you can see the loch in Strathclyde Park and the M74 in the background.

Hamilton Mausoleum, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland

This building is famous (a much over-used word but true in this case) for once having the longest sustained echo of any man-made structure in the world.

Well worth a visit .. visit .. visit .. visit ..

However, in 2014 the record was broken by some old oil storage tanks at Inchindown, a handful of miles north of Invergordon on the north-east coast of Scotland.
