Elie Lady's Tower
Fife
Lady's Tower near Elie in Fife.
This is the ruin of what was essentially an up-market bathing hut
built in the 1770s for the use of Lady Janet Anstruther of Elie House.
There was a cave under the tower which gave her privacy and the villagers were
warned by a bell not to approach while she was bathing.
The tower is a popular walk from Elie and is on the Fife Coastal Path.
From both locations there are excellent views of the Isle of May, Bass Rock,
Berwick Law and the southern shore of the Forth estuary.
