The Scottish Seabird Centre
|
North Berwick, East Lothian
|
This is an interesting building on the pier at North Berwick.
This is the main centre for the study and protection of seabirds in Scotland and has many fascinating exhibits as
well as live cameras looking at the activity amongst the wildlife on the Bass Rock and elsewhere.
Education is a principal purpose. The centre caters for many school trips throughout the year
and in this photograph a crocodile of children can be seen entering the exhibit to the left.
Both of the buildings shown are in part solar-powered.
Even the outside of the centre is interesting with several sculptures and objects of interest for the casual visitor.
