Port Appin - Lismore Ferry - Oban, Argyll & Bute

Some photographs of the ferry to and from the island of Lismore.

Lismore is a small island off the west coast of Scotland, a few miles north of Oban.

This is the ferry “The Lismore” arriving at Port Appin pier.

The ferry leaves from Port Appin pier and during the holiday season is roughly a one-hour service each way but with a few less trips on Sundays as is usual on the west coast of Scotland.

It's not an expensive trip at just £2.10 per adult (2021 prices) so it's a very popular day trip for tourists. Children travel for even less. The ferry is run by Argyll & Bute Council.

Disembarking passengers just arrived after the ten minute crossing.

From the north.

Ready to depart (it's about a ten-minute crossing) and with the sight-seeing boat trippers all set to leave from the other side of the pier.

A close up view to show the name of the ferry. Not a difficult choice.
