north of Oban, Argyll & Bute
Port Appin to Lismore ferry, north of Oban, Argyll & Bute, Scotland

Some photographs of the ferry to and from Lismore, a small island off the west coast of Scotland, a few miles north of Oban.

This is the ferry “The Lismore” arriving at Port Appin pier.

The ferry leaves from Port Appin pier and during the holiday season is roughly an hourly service (it takes about ten minutes) each way (with fewer trips on Sundays).

The fares are have risen quite a lot recently (2019) and are now £2.85 per adult each way though is still a popular day trip for tourists. Children travel for a less.

Ready to depart (for about a ten-minute crossing) and with the sight-seeing boat trippers all set to leave from the other side of the pier.

Disembarking passengers at the pierhead.

A close up view to show the name of the ferry. Not a difficult choice.
