Crail Golfing Society
Balcomie & Craighead Links in the East Neuk of Fife
This view is looking south-east with Fife Ness coastguard station in the middle distance.
Crail Golfing Society is one of the oldest golf clubs on the planet (to be exact
the 7th ever) having been formed by the Gentlemen of Crail in 1786.
To put that in perspective, it was two years before both the death of Bonnie
Prince Charlie and the election of George Washington as first US president.
Looking north-west over Craighead Links towards Kingsbarns and St Andrews.
Looking east from over by the nearby kart track.
Recent modifications to the clubhouse and the addition of Craighead Links
in 1998 have resulted in reviewers naming this club as one of the best golfing
challenges and best value clubs to visit in the whole of Scotland.
