Glen Café
Loch of the Lowes / St Mary's Loch
The Glen Café and St Mary's Loch Art Gallery by the Loch of the Lowes in the Scottish Borders.
Nearby are the monument to James Hogg and the old Tibbie Shiels Inn.
A detail from the above photo to show you the
image quality. The stuffed dog? No idea.
Now re-opened under new management and as popular as ever. The food? Excellent.
The Glen Café is on the A708 about 15 miles north-east of Moffat and five miles north
of the Grey Mare's Tail and is a stopping point on the Southern Upland Way.
St Mary's Loch is a few hundred yards to the north and these photos were taken at Easter.
During the half hour to take these photos we counted over 50 motorbikes, as well as a few cyclists and
many visitors by car or on foot.
Oh, and one motor scooter...
The close proximity to The Loch of the Lowes.
Looking south-west you can see the car parking and the view all the way down the loch.
